Careers in Space Science
Stars
have been a subject of fascination for man-kind since time immemorial. The
questions what’s out there, where did we come from, is anyone else out there,
have troubled the human mind. In search of answers, mankind has tried every
trick in the book and beyond. The ancient Indian sages, who many believe in reality,
were scientists, managed to garner a vast expanse of knowledge, a drop of which
is stored in the Indian Vedas and texts. This astronomical brilliance is not
just seen in India but across the globe. Tribes
turned to the heavens when looking for structure and found ingenious ways to
build their lives around the stars they saw every night. Whether it be The Great Pyramids of Egypt, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Jantar
Mantar in India, Machu Pichu in Peru and many such innumerable awe inspiring
structures doted across the world, all
stand as a testement of the great ancient astronomical knowledge.
All this was made possible even in the absence of the highly sophisticated equipment and machinery available in 21st century. After a dormant period a few thousand years, the last 50 years have seen an explosion in technological advancement. With the advent of new techniques of space research, powerful space telescopes and satellites, space research has become easier and thrilling at the same time. Space travel which was once considered only fit for sci-fi movies is slowly becoming a reality. Recent discoveries have showed the presence of at least 234 probable Earth like planets in solar systems, millions of light year away from earth which may support alien life.
The journey that mankind has taken from ancient times to the present world in the field of space and science is astounding. The need and demand for experts in the field of space science is ever expanding.
If you think you are crazy enough to answer the unanswered, seek out the unknown and undiscovered realm of space, do not hesitate to take the plunge here.
